Budapest, Hungary - History Abounds
Copyright - Dave Hutchinson
Budapest is a totally different European city than Prague. Budapest feels more like a big city with massive stone buildings, reconstruction since WWII and the end of Communism (1989).
The hole in the Hungarian flag replaces the hammer and sickle of Communism.
Bullet holes are a grim reminder of the wages of World War II.
Mathias Church - dating from 1247 AD.
In my opinion Fisherman's Bastion is one of the most beautiful areas of Budapest with views high above the Danube. When I return this will be the area where I will concentrate my photography.
Look for the beautiful little church which is built into the grotto of the hill.
