Our first reaction to seeing elephants in Kenya was that they are a different breed than the elephants that we had seen in southern Africa. As you can see on this page it is just the color of the soil that gives these animals the orangish appearance.
The women in our group made a point to note the eyelashes on this huge elephant.
This youthful elephant reminds me of Dumbo.
An elephant with the trunk up is said to be a sign of good luck.
In Swahili the name of this river translates to mean "The Brown River"
Elephants are methodical as they cross the river almost in single file.
