This is a series of photos of rondavels.  These are typical African homes.  They are constructed of natural materials and mixed with cow dung or cement. The roofs are always constructed of thatch.  This is  just about the only material that can be used to make the round roofs.

It is not unusual to see a squatter camp adjacent to a neighborhood of luxury homes.
